Position Title: Account Manager
Reports To: Program Manager



PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

1. Identify and analyze client exposure and provide risk control and risk transfer mechanisms and solutions to meet the commercial clients' needs. Implement and monitor the established risk management program throughout the policy year to ensure compliance and make adjustments when needed.
2. Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to customers, producers, external company personnel and internal co workers.
3. Grow and develop talents and insurance and risk management knowledge to highest level possible.
4. Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing commercial accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Service Commercial Lines accounts as assigned and aid in collections as requested by accounting.
2. Meet with clients to discuss and handle their insurance needs.
3. Maintain a thorough understanding of the markets and their appetites, underwriting guidelines, submission guidelines and procedures.
4. Maintain an excellent knowledge of all partner carrier and vendor websites and their functions
5. Prepare company submissions for quotes and prepare proposals of insurance and services for Commercial Lines clients, including visits to clients with or without producer when required.
6. Initiate, screen and prepare endorsement requests for Commercial Lines clients.
7. Prepare and process cancellations when required.
8. Prepare and process all requests for Certificates of Insurance and Evidence of Property as required within 24 hours of request or sooner if needed.
9. Review all applications, policies, endorsements and audits for accuracy.

10. Review exposure and loss information, analyze trends and assess need for appropriate loss control and/or risk transfer action
11. Setup and prepare account files per agency procedures.
12. Invoice all premium-bearing transactions.
13. Prepare account summaries as required.
14. Prepare ID cards, evidence of property, certificates, binders, and/or obtain underwriter approval on manuscript endorsements.
15. Coordinate expirations with the producer to obtain renewal business information. Maintain an expiration log.
16. Check new and renewal quotations and policies for accuracy in rating, typing, coverages, signatures and input these transactions to generate billing invoices. Ensure that these items are delivered and/or mailed to the client according to timelines established in the Division's renewal procedures.
17. Maintain electronic and/or paper files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
18. Deliver policies, and related documents to insured as needed.
19. Keep current on rates, forms, coverage changes, industry trends, programs through circulars, bulletins, trade publications, seminars and schools offered.
20. Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
21. Maintain all client activity in the agency automation system.
22. Service commercial lines accounts in a manner to eliminate gaps in coverage, thus reducing our E&O exposures.
23. Prioritize workload and/or request for assistance as required. Provide assistance to co workers when requested.
24. Provide training to co workers when required.
25. Assist Claims Department in providing coverage information.
26. Keep producers fully informed of all important activities on their accounts.
27. Obtain expiration dates for policies not written by us to follow-up on and quote.
28. Immediately report all malfunctions of system software to the systems manager.
29. Understand the various products and services the agency offers.
30. Introduce our clients to all the products and services the agency offers.
31. Assist other divisions in securing and/or providing information necessary to service our mutual client professionally.
32. Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by department manager




QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Minimum of one year of Commercial Account Management or Commercial Underwriting experience is necessary.
2. Education requirement: College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
3. Professional designation is a plus. Pursuit of professional designation is required.
4. Knowledge of computer systems and operations is required including Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
5. Good listening skills and attention to detail are important.
6. Good oral and written communication is important.
7. Property & Casualty License is required.
8. CIC designation or equivalent is preferred. The active pursuit of the CIC designation or equivalent is required.
9. A valid driver's license, good driving record and insurance are required.

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY MANAGEMENT



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
