00 an hour Accucare Nursing & Home Care is a pediatric agency located in Rockland County, New York, providing pediatric home care services, by delivering the highest quality of care for its patients through their exemplary field nursing staff.
Accucare has immediate, full-time (40 hours/week) opportunities for qualified Nurse Schedulers to join its staff, who primarily assists the field nursing staff.
This position reports directly to the Agency's Director of Operations, while also working with the Clinical Manager and Field Nursing Supervisory staff.
Previous healthcare industry experience is preferred; however, it is not essential for the right candidate who can learn the demographics and procedures necessary to be successful in this position.
Position Summary The Scheduler is responsible for maintaining schedules for RNs and LPNs, based upon services and visit frequencies indicated by the patient's plan of care, payor authorizations and the patient's specific needs.
A Scheduler is the primary liaison between the Agency, the patient's family and/or caregiver, Nurses, payors, case managers, and sometimes other agencies.
In addition, the Nurse Scheduler ensures that patient profiles are updated on a regular/as needed basis, correctly within the EHR/EMR as required.
Lastly, this position may also require periodic on-call responsibilities on a 365/24/7basis, with advance notice.
Basic Responsibilities Creating monthly schedule for assigned patients.
Keeping patient profiles updated, communicating changes.
Send out availability calendars.
Daily schedule updating, often, many changes in one day's time due to parent's changes, nurse availability, nurse changes, etc.
Communicating with field nurses, families and school districts on an ongoing/regular basis.
Adds nurse training to the schedules.
Communicate with Field Nurse Supervisors for nurse placement.
Arrange meet and greet sessions, and obtain feedback on meet and greet from attendees.
Coordinate schedules with families, schools, and nurses.
Check for discharge papers, send to supervisors.
Communicate issues with supervisors, directors, managers, as well as make record of journal notes.
As necessary, provide alternative coverage for call outs/ vacation / non-returning nurses.
Work closely with payroll to ensure timesheet submissions are on time, and routinely communicate on a daily basis regarding rates and overtime approval.
Generate monthly on-call schedule.
Address school delays, closings and sudden changes, e.

1/2 days by school districts.
Maintain applicable spreadsheets.

S, or an Associate's Degree from an accredited 2-year College At least 2-3 years of previous scheduling experience-preferably in a healthcare related company Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high volume setting of work tasks Effective communication skills in dealing with Agency management, patient families and nurses, in a polite, caring and professional manner MUST ALWAYS FOLLOW HIPPA GUIDELINES! Proficient computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software Working knowledge of healthcare terminology is a PLUS This position is classified under the FLSA guidelines as Non-Exempt.
