Scheduler/Legislative Correspondent

A New York Senator's office is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable person to join their team in the District Office in Nanuet, NY. The Senator's Scheduler/Legislative Correspondent is entrusted with managing the Senator's busy schedule of meetings and events, and drafting responses to constituent correspondence about policy matters. This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff, with daily direct interaction with the Senator as well. Responsibilities include:
oReviewing and logging every scheduling request received by the Senator's office from interest groups, organizations, constituents, and other stakeholders oCreating and editing all calendar entries in Google calendar, once scheduling decisions are made in consultation with Senator and Chief of Staff oCommunicating with Senator and Chief of Staff regularly about deadlines for responses to invitations and meticulously tracking requests oManaging the Senator's official email inbox, according to office procedures oDrafting responses from the Senator to constituent communications about policy issues oDeveloping an organized system of responding to constituents oCreating weekly and monthly reports summarizing constituent policy concerns for the Senator and his policy staff oRepresenting or accompanying the Senator at events when needed

Salary Range:
From $40000 to $50000 Annually
Minimum Qualification
The ideal candidate would possess:
oInterest in NYS government and politics, and preferably experience working for an elected official oA bachelor's degree in political science or a related field oExtremely good organizational skills and methods oProfessional communication skills including strong, efficient writing oHigh level of comfort with different office productivity programs including email, calendar, Google docs, spreadsheets, and basic database management oAvailability and accessibility to coordinate last minute scheduling changes outside of normal work hoursEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
